The Finest Apple Crisp Recipe
Could there be a better cure this time of year? This time of year in season with the abundance of apples. Plus, I really like that this apple crisp that is simple does not require as much work but it has flavors.
This homemade apple crisp is packed with fresh, juicy apples which are perfectly sweetened and baked until perfectly tender. And do not even get me started on that crumb! It is golden brown, crispy perfection.
Trust me, this apple crisp are the highlight of any meal. If I had it my way this could be the meal:-RRB- I mean.
Strategies for the Best Apple Crisp
Make certain to slice your apples so that they become fully tender. Nobody needs a apple in their own apple crisp.
Stick with granny smith apples for consistent results.
In case you only have salted butter hand, reduce the salt in the topping to 1/8 tsp and omit the salt in the filling.
Serve this homemade apple crisp freshly baked and hot. It'll be okay for a few days, but so I enjoy it fresh, the topping does begin to soften up.

  3. Add diced butter and using clean fingertips, rub butter into dry mixture until it comes together into small crumbles. Transfer to refrigerator to chill while preparing filling.
  4. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter and flour until well blended, then mix in water, lemon juice and vanilla. Stir in 1/4 cup 1/2 tsp cinnamon sugar, and pinch of salt.
  5. Put apples in a large bowl then pour butter mixture over apples and toss to evenly coat, then pour lemon mixture into prepared baking dish and spread in an even layer.
  6. Remove topping from refrigerator and sprinkle into crumbles evenly on top of apples.
  7. Bake in preheated oven until top is golden brown and apples are tender when pierced with a toothpick, about 35 minutes.
  8. Remove from oven and allow to rest 10 minutes before serving. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream and sauce that is salted if desired.
Recipe Notes
Be sure to slice your apples thinly so they become fully tender. No one wants a crunchy apple in their apple crisp.
If you only have salted butter on hand, reduce the salt in the topping to 1/8 tsp and omit the salt in the filling.
